The group communicated through various channels; we used a Facebook group for most of the communication regarding meetings and major design-choices, a Facebook chat for most of the minor ongoing design-choices and various chit-chat. We used a Google Drive map where we stored minutes from the meetings, images, presentations etc. We used Github to host the webpage as well as host individual code. We also had a Slack channel, which however was not used much at all.
We also had regular group-meetings, where we discussed design-choices and what to do next, as well as division of labour. Most meetings were attended by the majority of the group members, but as it is with any project involving several people with different schedules, it was rare that everyone attended the meeting.
The communication worked fine, the group seemed to pull in the same direction, and everyone had fairly similar ideas about what they wanted for the visualization. There were some redundant work when several group members worked on the same functionality, but we used that to take the best bits of everyone's work. Overall the communication was ok and the project flowed fairly seemlessly.
Some people did more work than others, but everyone contributed in some way. For more information about everyone's individual contribution, click the images below!
